Children grow best where they are known.
Village Child Initiative is a community-rooted organisation working in rural Uganda alongside families who are doing their best with very little. We don't arrive with ready-made solutions — we listen first, then build durable support around the children and caregivers already doing the hardest work.
"A life for every child" is not a slogan we print on a banner. It's the standard we hold every programme to.
From a blue tarp shared by toddlers at mealtime to a mother raising eight children under one roof, the families in our care are resourceful, dignified, and underserved. Our role is to close the gap between what they have and what every child deserves.
